Through the Weimar Poetry Film Award the Literary Society of Thuringia and the Weimar Animation Club are looking for innovative poetry films.
Filmmakers from any nation and of any age are welcome to participate with up to three short films of up to 10:00 mins, which should explore the relation between film and written poetry in an innovative, straightforward way. Each entrant will receive free access to the media library of the festival.
The competition Weimar Poetry Film Award is financed by the Thuringian State Chancellery, the Kulturstiftung des Freistaats Thüringen, the Sparkasse Mittelthüringen, Sparkassenkulturstiftung Hessen-Thüringen and the City of Weimar. The competition is part of the International Poetry Film Festival of Thuringia.

– A viewing copy (upload on FilmFreeway or a link to a preview),
– Film stills
– Synopsis
– A quotable text of the related poem in German or English
– Directorʼs short bio/filmography
– The writerʼs biography/publication list in German or English.
Responsibility
I am responsible for the acquisition of the rights and explicitly exempt the organizer from possible legal recourse regarding unauthorized usage.
I permit the LGT to use various clips for PR-purposes.
I permit the LGT to use my work for the production of showreels for PR-purposes of the festival.
I permit the broadcast of clips of my work on television.
I permit the publication of clips of my work on the Internet.
I understand that the film will also be shown in the additional program. I permit the storage of application material in the festival-archive.
If the original version of the film is in another language than English, than the screening copy should be subtitled in English.
