WAINI is an annual festival organized by the Animation Program students of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta (ISI Yogyakarta). It serves as a platform for appreciation and collaboration among creators in animation, illustration, interactive media, and game development.
The name WAINI stands for “Warga Animasi” (Animation Community), reflecting the spirit of unity and togetherness within the animation industry. Since its inception in 2018, WAINI has provided a space for ISI Yogyakarta animation students to showcase their best works, including concept art, art books, games, and animated films. In 2024, WAINI evolved into a more inclusive platform, welcoming creators, communities, and art enthusiasts from various regions to share inspiration, engage in discussions, and collaborate within a dynamic creative ecosystem.
WAINI is more than just an exhibition—it is a celebration of creativity, limitless exploration, and the passion for storytelling through animation. Through this festival, we aspire to bring together Indonesia’s animation community, fostering connections and growth to drive the development of the country’s animation industry.
