Animation Festivals Directory

The Taichung International Animation Festival (TIAF), organized by the Taichung Film Development Foundation (TFDF) with the support of the Information Bureau of the Taichung City Government, is Taiwan’s only city-based animation film festival. Founded in 2015, TIAF has quickly become a prominent international animation event, attracting both local and international animators and film enthusiasts alike.

This year, TIAF introduces a brand-new competition category: Animated Feature, alongside its traditional short film competition. With a total prize pool of TWD 1.35 million (approximately USD 43,000), this year’s competition aims to attract filmmakers from all over the world and provide Taiwanese filmmakers with an exciting platform to showcase their innovative projects.

The 10th edition of TIAF will take place in October 2025 in Taichung, Taiwan.
