DOK Leipzig is the world‘s oldest festival for documentary and animation film and unique in offering this combination. It is guided by the values of diversity, human dignity, inclusion and peace. The festival presents about 200 artistically outstanding, socially relevant films, XR experiences and provides space for dialogue and debate.
In 2023, DOK Leipzig has launched a new International Competition Animated Film that is open to films of all lengths. Separate awards will be presented for feature-length and short films within this competition.
The winning film of the Golden Dove Short Animated Film also qualifies for nomination at the ACADEMY AWARDS®, provided it meets the Academy’s requirements.
