BWater is an international itinerant animation film event that takes place in locations in direct proximity to water, symbol of freedom and fluidity.

For the #1 edition, BWater invites you to PAS Berlin, an art space and event venue located on the banks of the River Spree in the Alt-Moabit district.

The festival welcomes short animated films with a view to promoting creative freedom, enabling independent filmmakers to show their work and raising public awareness of new cinematographic forms.

Requirements:
Open Call BWater #1 1. COMPETITION The festival is not competitive, but an Audience Award will be given to the film that wins the public vote. 2. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Movie should be produced after 1. January 2020. The lenght of the film must not exceed 10mn. The films must approach the experimental animation genre (Live footage shooted or edited frame by frame are accepted) . By experimental we mean films that experiment with form or / and content (notably with a personal and distinctive story-telling). English subtitles are mandatory. Registration is free, but please make sure your film meets the festival's criteria. ONE submission per filmmaker. 3. COPYRIGHTS By applying for the competition submitter accepts the public presentation of the film at the BWater#1 presentation. The copyrights of the film must not infringe the copyrights of others. If you use some archives please send us the documents attesting the authorization to use the content protected by copyright. For promotional and information purposes related to the event, the festival will be able to use fragments of the movie (no more than 10 sec. of the time of the film). 4. SELECTION The selection is currently being made by members of the Fraktal0.0 & La Conscience collectives. For this edition we cannot give any remuneration for the artists. Nor can we provide reimbursement for travel to the festival, or for accommodation, but we very much hope that some artists will make the trip and celebrate with us. 5.
