Animatex is Egypt’s biggest animation event and the annual meeting point for all the animation community in the region; freelancers, students, amateurs, studios, academics and general audience.
Established in 2020; it offers a much needed window on the local and international animation scenes, through a multitude of workshops, talks, discussions, screenings, competitions, exhibitions, keynotes, networking sessions and markets.
It is also the driving force of many collaborations and opportunities with international festivals and partners for the benefit of the animation industry in Egypt.

Requirements:
1. Produced no earlier than 1 Jan 2023.
2. Not less than 1 minutes and no more than 30 minutes in duration, excluding credits.
3. More than 50% of its duration is in animation.
4. Has not been submitted to Animatex before in any of its previous editions.
5. Once submitted, films can not be withdrawn.
6. Only completely submitted entries will be taken into consideration.
7. Animatex is granted the rights to screen and market for the selected films, during the festival, on its online portal that is limited to accredited guests, and in any related offline events in Egypt 1 year after the edition ends.
8. Awards will be awarded by a professional external jury.
9. Awards will be given to the directors of the winning films.
10. Films will be screened in their original language, with an Arabic and/or English subtitle, that should be provided in the submission.
11. If the film is chosen in the festival, the filmmakers are required to send a ProRes copy to be screened.
12. Film excerpts of no more than 10% may be used for publicity.
13. Animatex doesn't pay a screening fee for film selected to participate in the official competitions.
14. Animatex welcomes all filmmakers to Egypt, so for selected films in the International Competition, we offer free accommodation for one director per film for the whole duration fo the festival, whenever possible.
